There are many wild encounters that happen to paddle boarders. However, a squid stuck on a paddler’s board may just take the cake as being the wildest encounter yet. It happened when a man was enjoying a good time on his paddle board in an ocean in Melkbosstrand a small coastal village in South Africa. Where it is home to about 11,000 people. The squid was stuck on his board when the man noticed that the squid was not only curious about the paddle boarders floating board. The squid was also injured and trying to find relief on his board.
This is not the first time paddle boarders have encountered something strange and unusual. There have been encounters where paddlers have been facing to face with Orca whales one of the largest ocean creatures there are. This happened to a paddle boarder in New Zealand where as they were paddling with a Go-pro strapped to the top to the head recording the encounter. Another paddler encountered that was captured on a Go-pro was slightly different. This time it was not a squid and not an Orca. It was a shark! This happened in an ocean in Florida. Nothing happened to the paddle border. He might have been a little frightened but he was able to continue to paddle along as the shark did not harm him.
When you set out on a paddle boarding escapade you should expect beforehand that you could find yourself face-to-face with the oceans most exciting sea creatures. Having that frame of mind will save you the scare that you would have if you encounter a giant Orca whale that comes up for air that you come across. Do not let this stop you from going out and enjoying your next paddle boarding ride.
