Except now everyone’s going to want to try it out! SUP paddle boarding is not in the Olympics yet however it is likely going to be a part of the 2019 world beach games. People have coined the event the “beach Olympics.” If Paddle boarding is added to the event it is not going to be SUP Surfing it is going to be SUP racing and racers will need to complete to see who reaches the finish line first.
These games are going to be held in San Diego although the events were supposed to take place in September 2017 it is now set to take place in 2019. This would be the first ever World Beach Games. Other events that are set to take place at the games are other beach sports like volleyball, rowing, and triathlons. Stand up paddle boarding would fit right in with the beach games. While SUP racing is not likely to take place in the 2020 Olympics games, some feel that Stand-up paddle boarding should have its debut when the Olympics come to Los Angeles California in 2028.
Racing would probably be the event that would take place in the Olympic games where a group of athletes compete for the bronze, silver, and gold medals for Stand-Up paddle boarding. If SUP boarding was added to the Olympics this would bring awareness to the sport and give the Athletes who devote their lives to stand up paddle board racing.
