The Lake has many different species of fish that you can catch such as green ear sunfish, rainbow trout, channel fish, crappie, red ear, bluegill, and the most popular fish the flathead catfish. You can fish either on a boat, off the shore, or even on your paddle board! Paddle board fishing is great because its quiet so that the fish don’t swim off as they when boats go through the water. You can also reach areas that most boats can’t. Stand up paddle board fishing is extremely fun and there is no better place in Arizona to do it than Patagonia Lake. If you’d like to go swimming in the lake you are doing it at your own risk because the lake is a very wild.
Although there are areas at the lake that are sections off for swimmers to swim. Note that there is not a life guard present so be careful when you are swimming at Patagonia lake.
